The Smart Alex Coach podcast is all about women discovering that they have the power to reinvent their lives, no matter where they are in life or what they’ve been through.

Simone Baldwin
Simone Baldwin
Today’s guest is a prime example of that fact. You’re going to hear the story of Simone Baldwin, founder of “Healthy Gorgeous, and Tipsy” a site that focuses on coaching around healthy eating and sumptuous wines. Simone has carved out a niche for herself unlike any other. Find out more as you listen.

Before the reinvention
LIke many women out there, Simone was strapped to a full time job that provided a wonderful lifestyle but wasn’t providing the fulfillment and delight that she wanted for herself. Three pivotal experiences came into her life one after another that caused her to reevaluate where she was in life and where she wanted to be. It was a trying time that resulted in her making some decisions that moved her out of her full time job and into the entrepreneurial realm, full steam ahead. As you listen to Simone’s story you’ll be amazed at the steps she took.

Life experiences that change your outlook often lead to reinvention
Simone Baldwin’s story is no different. A horrendous auto accident laid her up in the hospital with metal pins in her hip bones and all kinds of thoughts running through her head. Was the life she’d lived to that point the life she wanted? If things were going to change, would she have the courage to make the changes? What would she do if she could do anything? These questions spurred Simone to take action once she recovered, resigning her employment and entering the entrepreneurial world almost immediately. You’ll be inspired by her story.

Your journey toward reinventing your life doesn’t have to look the same as everyone else.

Diane Mendel
Diane Mendel
Diane Mandel’s story shows how true that statement is. Diane was in a very bad place in her life: a single mom, on welfare, depressed, and struggling to make her life work. She didn’t know what to do but came to the realization that she had to do something. When she got the opportunity to go on a mountain climbing expedition, something happened to her when she reached the top that changed her life forever. What was it? You’ll have to listen to hear her tell the story because she tells it so much better!

When you decide that your life has to change, what steps are you willing to take to make it happen?
Diane Mandel took some pretty drastic steps that included a cross-country move from New England to San Diego, California. It was in Cali that her dreams began to take shape and that she began moving toward fulfilling them in ways she’d never done before. Diane says that you don’t have to have all the pieces in place before you move forward. You can move, knowing that as you move, things will fall into place at the right time. Her story is very intriguing and worth your time.

The radical life transformation and reinvention in today’s episode is the stuff novels are made of.

Diane Serns
Diane Serns
Diane Serns was a preacher’s daughter, raised in a very fundamental, strict faith. Her life was one of well-intentioned seclusion and sheltering until she married and moved away from home, at which time she discovered there was more to life than she’d ever known. Her story is an amazing account of how a desire to be more has driven her to create the life she knew could be hers.

It was on a cold night in Chicago…
when Diane Serns heard herself saying the words that would change her life. “I’m going to go to cosmetology school.” To this day she doesn’t know where the idea even came from, but it was the first step to a lifestyle change that she never imagined. She graduated from her training and began working multiple jobs in the beauty industry, all the while moving closer and closer to her eventual role as an Image Consultant. You’ve got to listen to this incredible story.

Sometimes reinventing yourself requires you let go of everything you’ve ever known.
It’s not true for everyone, but it was for Diane. She made the choice to let go of her past, the fundamental religion in which she’d been raised, her home, even a marriage. She moved across the country to San Diego, California and created her own business doing hair and makeup for weddings in San Diego and the surrounding areas. That business led to one on one consulting jobs and image consultations that have built the business she has today. It was a great sacrifice but one she says she’ll never regret.

From a fast-paced, stressful life in the city to a dream existence in a tropical paradise.
That’s the basic description of our guest’s experience. Julie – who goes by “Julie in Bali” was working in the corporate world in the heart of London, commuting every day in and then out of the city, experiencing the stress and problems that come with that kind of life. She never dreamt that she’d reinvent her life and really had no reason to think that she even needed to. But a 3 month trip around the world opened a door she never expected, and she’s never gone “home” to London since. In this episode of Smart Alex Coach you’ll get to hear Julie’s story and how she came to live in Bali full time, write poetry and short stories as part of every day, and enjoy a life she never even knew to dream.

It’s alright to make plans, as long as they don’t become straight-jackets.
Julie says that’s one of the things she’s learned through her life reinvention. Her plan was to be gone from London on a 3 month trip. She never expected that she’d find a place she simply couldn’t leave, but she did in Bali. If she’d stuck to her plan, she would be back in London, working in a high-stress environment daily, missing out on the great life she’s found in Bali. She had to be flexible, to hold her plans loosely for the sake of finding the place she was supposed to be. Hear more of Julie’s story and how she came to stay in Bali on this episode of Smart Alex Coach.

The cultures of Indonesia captivated her
